Short Takes: Fleet Clearing Unit Hires Operations Chief

U.S. Clearing, the securities clearing unit of Fleet Securities, New York, has hired Glenn A. Peterson as a senior vice president and director of operations.

Mr. Peterson, 46, is set to join U.S. Clearing next week. He succeeds James Talty, 59, who is retiring after 21 years with the company.

Mr. Peterson was previously senior vice president and director of operations services at National Financial Services Corp., the clearing subsidiary of Boston-based Fidelity Investments.

U.S. Clearing serves 398 correspondent firms. Fleet Securities is a subsidiary of Fleet Financial Group, Boston.
