In Brief: Former Ahmanson Exec Joins Florida Developer

Former H.F. Ahmanson & Co. chief financial officer Kevin M. Twomey has been named president and chief financial officer of St. Joe Company, a diversified real estate development and services company.

Mr. Twomey, 51, was a key member the management team that helped transform Ahmanson from a traditional thrift institution into a full- service consumer bank.

Mr. Twomey, who also held the title of vice chairman, engineered the restructuring of Ahmanson holdings by selling the company's network of remote franchises and re-investing the significant profits into acquisitions in California. In late 1998, Ahmanson was bought by Washington Mutual Inc.

Before joining Ahmanson in 1993, Mr. Twomey was chief financial officer at First Gibraltar Bank of Dallas, which is held by MacAndrews & Forbes Holdings of New York City. He was also an executive with MCORP and Bank of America.
