Card Briefs: Atlanta Group Renews Contract with 1st Data

First Data Re-sources Inc. has won a six-year renewal of its processing agreement with the Southeast Bankcard Association. The association, based in Atlanta, represents 70 financial institutions with an aggregate of 680,000 credit and debit accounts. First Data will continue to provide credit, debit, and merchant processing services for the association, which has 38,000 merchant locations in its portfolio.

First Data has provided these services to Southeast Bankcard since 1975. In addition, the association recently hired First Data Direct Banking-also a unit of First Data Corp.-to create an Internet site where customers of member institutions can view and download card account information.
