The Tel Aviv company's Flashlight service can be used to remotely access any computer running its Rapport security software. Trusteer will attempt to identify malware or malicious behavior caused by any new or unidentified malware. Since many of these programs send data to a fraudster's server, the company attempts to identify that server and have it taken offline.
"Financial institutions and their customers are being targeted by purpose-built malware variants designed to evade detection and commit online fraud specifically against their brand," Amit Klein, Trusteer's chief technology officer, said in a press release Monday. "The Trusteer Flashlight service enables banks to counterstrike these targeted attacks."
