C&S to Acquire Atlanta-Area Branch from Ameris

Community & Southern Holdings has agreed to acquire a branch in metro Atlanta from Ameris Bancorp (ABCB).

C&S will acquire the physical branch, located in Woodstock, Ga., as well as $26.7 million of deposits and $6.7 million of loans. C&S, a $2.2 billion-asset institution based in Atlanta, is paying a 1% premium for the deposits, according to a regulatory filing. Other terms weren’t disclosed.

C&S operates offices in metro Atlanta and north Georgia, while the $2.9 billion-asset Ameris, based in Moultrie, Ga., has offices primarily in south Georgia, as well as Alabama, Florida and South Carolina.
