Simple Enacts New Security Features

Simple (formerly BankSimple) has enacted two new security features centered around its mobile app — one of which allows bank customers to temporarily suspend a lost debit card.

"Have you ever left your card at a bar? Or thought you lost your card, only to find it ten minutes after you cancelled it? Or worse, discovered fraud long after funds were taken from your account?" the Portland, Ore. branchless bank said in a blog post. "It's your card, and you should have the same awareness and ability to protect your card that your bank has. With yesterday's update to our iPhone app, customers using Simple for iPhone have that power."

Another recently launched enhancement centers around Simple users' transactions. Now, a customer will receive a push notification every time she swipes.

The innovation is just the latest from Simple, which recently launched an Android app to give users of the Google operating system better access to its services.
