Credit Union Tech Provider Enables Charitable Giving at ATMs

The credit union servicer Co-Op Financial Services has introduced a program that makes it easier for members to make charitable contributions.

Co-Op Financial and the group Credit Unions for Kids have introduced a feature that lets credit union members make charitable contributions to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at ATMs, the groups announced Monday. Debit card holders in Co-Op';s network of about 3,500 credit unions can make the contributions, and the company is working to enroll more clients in the program, it said.

"It is a very easy matter for our clients to activate this convenient charitable contribution opportunity for their members," said Co-Op Financial Services Chief Executive Stan Hollen in the news release. "We encourage them to take advantage of this program promptly to maximize giving."

Co-Op Financial Services also manages a program that matches charitable gifts on behalf of its clients, and provides about $1 million a year to Credit Unions for Kids fundraisers, it said.
