Title Insurance Company CEO Commits Suicide

The chief executive of a Colorado title insurance company that was under investigation by state regulators killed himself with a nail gun last week, according to the Arapahoe County coroner's office.

Richard Talley, 56, was the founder and CEO of American Title Services in Centennial, Colo. His body was discovered in his home on Feb. 4. Talley died after firing between seven and eight nail guns into his torso and head, according to a report in The Denver Post confirmed by the coroner's office.

Talley and his company were the subjects of an open investigation by the Colorado Division of Insurance, according to agency spokesman Vincent Plymell. The investigation began on Feb. 5. Further details into the nature of the probe were not available to the public.
