Reliant in Tennessee in Talks to Sell to Commerce Union: Report

Reliant Bank in Brentwood, Tenn., is reportedly in talks to sell itself with Commerce Union Bank in Springfield, Tenn.

The banks could announced a deal in coming weeks, unnamed sources told the Nashville Business Journal. The $253 million-asset Commerce Union would likely pay for the $385 million-asset Reliant with stock, the report said.

DeVan Ard Jr., Reliant's president and chief executive, and Ron DeBerry, Commerce Union's president and chief executive, were unavailable to talk to the publication.
