ChoiceOne Financial in Michigan Chooses New President

ChoiceOne Financial Services in Sparta, Mich., has tapped a new president as it splits the role from chief executive.

Kelly Potes was promoted from senior vice president to president of the $543 million-asset holding company and of ChoiceOne Bank. James Bosserd had been president and chief executive of both entities and he will retain the CEO title.

Potes was also named a director of the bank and holding company.

Potes "has planned well for this position," Bosserd said in a news release. "He has had an impressive career to date."

Potes has worked at ChoiceOne as assistant controller, bank investment portfolio manager, head of bank retail services, head of investment services and in other positions. He has been senior vice president of retail services and general manager of ChoiceOne Insurance Agencies since 2001.
