United Community Financial in Youngstown, Ohio, has agreed to buy James & Sons Insurance.
The $2 billion-asset United Community said in a press release Monday that the deal should close in the first quarter. The price was not disclosed.
The Boardman, Ohio, agency will continue to operate under its name and will remain in Boardman.
Tom Costello, who has been with James & Sons for 35 years, will continue to serve as its president.
United Community said that the transaction is the initial step in the formation of Home Savings Insurance Group and that it is looking to expand through organic growth and "selective" acquisitions.
