Investing in youth
Birmingham, Ala.-based eCO Credit Union raised over $50,000 in benefit of Alabama youth.
Mad money
Six financail education grants were awarded by the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation to help Minnesota CUs with specific projects. Thanks to the funding, United Educators Credit Union of Mendota Heights, Minn., was able to host its 'Mad City Money program'
For the children
The Credit Unions for Kids Masquerade Auction was hosted by the Northwest Credit Union Association this year, which raised nearly $872,000 for eight Children's Miracle Network hospitals treating patients in Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
Making money moves
Town & Country Credit Union based in Scarborough, Maine hosted its fifth annual money conference that invited nearly 250 attendees to participate in a number of workshops.
Treating substance abuse
A new residential substance abuse treatment center for women is one step closer to opening thanks to a $40,000 grant from the SECU Foundation, a charitable arm of the Raleigh, N.C.-based credit union.
A little boost
Local nonprofits in Alaska, Arizona, Washington and California's High Desert received a boost from the Alaska USA Foundation. The foundation donated a total of $78,000 that was dispersed across seven organizations.
On par
Now in its 24th year, the Kids-N-Hope Foundation's Annual Golf Classic raised over $100,000 to support child life services at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The foundation is organized by Philadelphia, Pa.-based American Heritage Credit Union.
Outstanding commitment
Genisys Credit Union received an outstanding community service award from the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce in honor of the Auburn Hills, Mich.-based CU's commitment to its community.
