Reaching a milestone
GEMC Credit Union in Tucker, Ga., is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its founding this year. The institution was started in 1969 to serve electric cooperative employees, and today has $127 million of assets and about 12,600 members.

To celebrate the milestone, the credit union hosted a special annual meeting at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins, Ga. Management also got nostalgic by sharing some old pictures, including the one above, which shows GEMC employees in 1997 helping to build a home during a Georgia Credit Union Affiliates Habitat for Humanity event. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich participated.
