Lansing, Mich.-based LAFCU hosted a “Breakfast with Santa” holiday party that was free to the public as a way to give the community a festive, no-cost holiday celebration. LAFCU staffers, pictured here with the big red guy, acted as Santa’s helpers during the event.
Happy and healthy holidays
The RTN Employees Community Outreach Committee at Waltham, Mass.-based RTN FCU helped provide holiday cheer to the local community by “adopting” eight children from the region for the festive season in partnership with the group Healthy Waltham. The groups supported children ages 8 to 11 who are part of Africano Waltham, a local program supporting the children of African immigrants.
Guidance and giving
Employees from Long Beach, Calif.-based LBS Financial CU donated hundreds of toys to the Guidance Center of Long Beach as part of the credit union’s yearly holiday breakfast.
HRCU gives back
New Hampshire-based HRCU donated to 27 local nonprofits as part of its sixth annual Christmas Caring campaign.

Nashville-based Ascend FCU donated $100,000 to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University, with Ascend CEO Caren Gabriel, second from left, subsequently announcing an additional $50,000 commitment to support the hospital.
Columbia cares
Columbia Credit Union in Vancouver, Wash. donated a total of $10,200 to three groups supporting veterans. Columbia’s “Veterans Appreciation Loan Promotion” helped generate the funds.
Elevations CU's holiday tradition
Boulder, Col.-based Elevations Credit Union hosted a month-long toy drive for nonprofits including Realities for Children and Share-A-Gift. His year marked the 10th consecutive year ECU has collected toys to benefit needy children during the holiday season.
Surpassing the annual goal
MetroWest Community FCU in Framingham, Mass. announced it exceeded its goal of $6,000 in charitable donations for the year, topping $9,000 as of Dec. 16, 2019. Throughout the year, the credit union has donated to Boys & Girls Club of MetroWest, the Camp Arrowhead American Veterans Association and more. Jeanne D'Arc helps struggling families
As it has done every year since 2014, Lowell, Mass.-based Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union hosted a toy drive for Toys for Local Children, gathering holiday gifts for struggling families, shelters and fire victims.
Community assistance donations
America First Credit Union in Riverdale, Utah donated $110,000 to 11 nonprofits across Utah and Southern Nevada as part of its Community Assistance Program.
