$2.10 Purchase Wins CU Member Free Super Bowl Tickets For Life

CLEARWATER, Fla. – A $2.10 purchase with a Visa card at a local Bi-Lo convenience store paid off in a big way for a member of SRP FCU – the grand prize winner of Visa’s Super Bowl Trip for Life, including round-trip airfare, accommodations and tickets to the Super Bowl for the rest of her life.

Robyne Thomas can’t even remember what she bought that day and even thought it was a scam when she got a phone message from someone who identified himself as credit union president Ed Templeton with the news.

She was sure it was a scam, especially when the credit union CEO finally got her on the phone and asked her to verify her card number. She refused to do so at first but finally confirmed the last four numbers.

In the days leading up to Super Bowl XLV, Visa promoted its Trip for Life contest by airing TV commercials on the “Never Miss a Super Bowl Club” – four men who were present for the first Super Bowl in January 1967 and who have been present for every one since. There were more than 9 billion entries during the contest period, according to Visa.

From Sept. 9 to Dec. 31, Visa cardholders in the U.S. were automatically entered for a chance to win a trip to the Super Bowl for life when they used their Visa card.
