ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Alaska USA FCU pledge $50,000 to support redevelopment of the Anchorage Veterans’ Memorial located on the Delaney Park Strip during last month’s Veterans’ Day celebration.
The Anchorage Veterans’ Memorial was built 23 years ago with help and funding from the community, including Alaska USA. The current project will include improved access for the disabled, new plants and landscaping, added lighting and security systems, and increased relevance to veterans and those who would honor them.
The $4.3 billion credit union was chartered in 1948 to serve employees at the Alaskan Air Depot. It expanded five years later to serve Elmendorf Air Force Base.
