PUEBLO, Colo. - (04/17/06) Police are crediting quick workby tellers at Minnequa Works FCU last week with frustrating anotherNigerian scam. Tellers immediately placed a hold on a check formore than $15,000 that turned out to be drawn on a phony accountpurported to be a lottery in Lagos, Nigeria. A second check for$7,500 was also rejected. The credit union member told police shewas issued the checks by a man claiming to be employed by theNigerian lottery.
