Allied Healthcare FCU adds to field of membership

Healthcare workers across six counties are now eligible for membership at Allied Healthcare Federal Credit Union in Long Beach, Calif.

The $73 million-asset institution said on Thursday that the National Credit Union Administration approved its field of membership expansion so it can now serve anyone who works in the healthcare industry in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura and Kern counties. Previously it just served select employee groups in Southern California.

Allied Healthcare FCU was founded in 1956 and currently serves about 6,000 members. It has three branches with a fourth expected to open in Long Beach next year.

“Allied Healthcare Federal Credit Union is pleased to offer our membership benefits to more healthcare workers. We’re committed to providing each of our members with ‘Financial Healthcare for Life’ and we do this by offering products and services that help members save money, promote financial literacy, and support a wide-range of financial needs for all stages of life,” Monica Lopez, president and CEO, said in a press release.

Allied Healthcare FCU earned about $475,000 through June 30, up almost 28% from the same period a year earlier, according to call report data.
