America First Credit Union has launched a new affordable housing program in conjunction with Fannie Mae that is designed to help members in a variety of financial situations achieve home ownership, making AFCU the first credit union in Utah to offer this product, the CU said.
AFCU said the product appeals to first-time homebuyers; individuals with irregular incomes such as seasonal workers and self-employed business owners; individuals facing affordability issues in high-cost housing areas or relocating to a higher-cost community; those wanting to refinance for lower monthly payments; financially conservative individuals wanting the stability of a long-term, fixed-rate mortgage and lower payments, and individuals wanting to increase purchasing power.
