American Heritage CU reaches $2 billion in assets

A manufacturing credit union that opened its doors in 1948 with just $12,776 in assets is celebrating reaching the $2 billion-asset mark.

American Heritage Credit Union began as Budd Workers Credit Federal Credit Union before it changed its name in 1987. Since then, the business and manufacturing landscape has changed and American Heritage CU has expanded its field of membership.

“The future of American Heritage is dedicated to being a leader in the credit union industry and making a genuine difference in people’s lives,” Bruce Foulke, president and CEO of American Heritage CU, said in a press release. “Our members were the core of our existence back in 1948 and they continue to be the focus of everything we do now in 2017. I’m honored to lead this organization and have the opportunity to change the lives of our members every single day.”

Philadelphia, Pa.-based American Heritage CU has 550 employees throughout 35 branches in the Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware and Camden Counties. With over 165,000 members, it is believed to be the country’s 121st largest CU.
