Atlantic Federal Credit Union implements succession plan

Roger Sirois, president of Atlantic Federal Credit Union in Brunswick, Maine, has retired after more than 30 years of service.

After starting out as a teller, Sirois worked his way up the ladder into various leadership positions, eventually taking the top job in 2008.

Sirois is succeeded by CEO Scott Chretien. The former president and CEO of York County FCU, which merged into Atlantic last winter, Chretien was appointed CEO of Atlantic last April, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“Roger has played a critical role in the growth and success of Atlantic Federal Credit Union, and his commitment to all Maine credit union members has always been a priority,” Chretien said in a press release. “I congratulate him on his accomplishments and thank him for helping to build an outstanding organization.”

The credit union serves more than 49,000 members with nearly $740 million in assets. Late last year it was approved for a field of membership expansion that widens its reach into additional counties.

Atlantic FCU posted nearly $3.2 million in net income during the first three quarters of 2019, the most recent data available, up from $2.7 million during the same period one year prior.
