Board At Arkansas FCU Appoints New President/CEO

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — The board at Arkansas FCU here has appointed Rodney Showmar to be the credit union's new president and CEO.

"We are excited to have Rodney take on the role of president/CEO," chairman Phillip B. Boudreaux said in a statement. "Rodney has extensive operations and financial management experience and is just the individual to lead us on our continuing journey of growth and development."

Showmar joined the credit union in 2001, serving first as VP of marketing and business development before being appointed in 2008 to the position of VP/Chief Operations Officer. He also serves on the Arkansas CU League's board of directors and technology committee.

Showmar is credited with having been instrumental in implementing strategic growth plans at Arkansas FCU and increasing efficiency and productivity, along with boosting membership and transitioning to a sales and service culture.

"Rodney has many great ideas for continuing Arkansas FCUs history of growth and exceptional member service," said Boudreaux. "His unique vision and drive will be critical in finding new ways to serve our membership and meet their financial needs. The board is looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Arkansas FCU under Rodney's leadership."

Arkansas FCU has 92,000 members with $966 million in assets. It currently has $719 million in loans on the books and earned a net income of $5.4 million last year.
