Buried Treasure Reveals Merged CU's Heritage

HOMESTEAD, Fla. - Following the merger of Pan Am Horizons FCU into Power Financial CU, the credit union marked another milestone: the unearthing of a time capsule buried 25 years ago. Among the treasures found within: mementos from the Homestead Air force Base, newspapers from Jan. 15, 1982, a photo of the supervisory committee, a 25th anniversary promotion, as well as contribution from the Marine Support Battalion and the 1981 Christmas party program. On hand for the event was Howard Hawkins, Power Financial board member emeritus, who was present when the capsule was originally buried Jan. 15, 1982. "The unearthing of the time capsule is a fitting segue for Pan Am Horizons as it celebrates 25 years and begins a new era as part of Power Financial Credit Union."
