SASKATCHEWAN - (04/04/06) -- Saskatchewan Central CU said its 88credit unions joined the Ombudsman for Banking Services andInvestments April 1, giving their 500,000 members access to anindependent and impartial dispute resolution service for unresolvedcomplaints. Under the ombudsman system, members with a complaintfirst approach their credit union, then move their dispute toSaskCentral if the problem is not resolved. If the member remainsunsatisfied with the outcome, they have a right to forward thedispute to OBSI. OBSI claims more than 500 credit unions, banks andinvestment companies among its customers.
