HOUSTON Cardtronics reported a 58% increase in second quarter earnings to $15.6 million, fueled by 8% growth in revenue.
The world’s biggest ATM operator, with a fleet of more than 60,000 ATMs in the U.S., continued its acquisition spree in the second quarter with deals for Aptus Group, LLC, a Portland, Oregon-based ATM operator of 3,300 merchant-owned ATMs; and Merrimak ATM Group, LLC, a Rohnert Park, California-based operator of 4,800 merchant-owned ATMs.
The second quarter also included a deal with Technology CU for the credit union to offer the company’s FeeAlert service to its members; and with TDECU to join its new preferred branding program.
Cardtronics is a key electronic funds switch for credit unions, with connections to CO-OP Financial Services and Credit Union 24.
For the first six months of the year Cardtronics reported a 6% increase in revenue to $405.7 million, and a 27% increase in net income to $24.8 million.
