The Carolinas Credit Union Foundation is raising funds to support people within the credit union movement affected by the torrential floods that have hit North Carolina and South Carolina.
The foundation is accepting contributions by mail or via ACH. Credit union communities in need of relief can apply through the CCUF Community Aid Grants program, which does not charge an administration fee for those looking for support.
Additionally, CCUF said in a news release that it is working with the Carolinas Credit Union League to collect reports from credit union staff and volunteers about damage and displacement due to the flooding.
“The response by numerous organizations and individuals demonstrates their pride and heart for serving others in need,” CCUF Board Chair John Slack said in the release. “We are thankful that most credit unions are physically and operationally sound, and we know they, too, are opening their arms to their communities.”
