Centra CU Wins $4 Million Judgment On Foreclosure

COLUMBUS, Ind. – A state court yesterday ordered the former River House, a prominent hotel in downtown Evansville that reopened recently under a different name, to pay more than $4.1 million to Centra CU, which filed a foreclosure law suit against it in December.

As part of the order the property will also be put up as part of a sheriff's sale.

Centra filed the foreclosure against Van Natta Holdings VII of Seymour, Ind., which owns the property now called the River Walk Plaza Hotel & Suites.

The former River House reopened under its new name in December, about six months after its electricity was turned off in the middle of a heat wave. About 80 tenants were living there at the time.
