Children's Museum Embezzlement LandsMember In Prison

BOSTON - (05/12/05) -- A former payroll supervisor at theChildren's Museum was sentenced to 18 months in jail Tuesday forstealing more than $200,000 from the museum and numerous fellowemployees, then laundering the money through her and her mother'scredit union accounts. Nicole Bartlett, 44, was also sentenced tothree years probation and will be ordered to make restitution at alater date. Bartlett confessed to preparing, endorsing, thendepositing 440 unauthorized checks, much of which she deposited inher account at Rockland FCU, or joint accounts she held with hermother at the credit union. Bartlett was fired in March 2003 whenthe scheme was uncovered.
