Clark County CU Disburses $7 Million in Dividends

LAS VEGAS – Members of Clark County CU rang in the New Year with the sound of the chi-ching–a $7 million year-end payout deposited in their accounts yesterday.

The average payout for the credit union’s 38,700 members was $179.48, with the single largest amount almost $41,000. The money was distributed based on the amount of interest paid or earned by each of the $630 million credit union’s members in 2007.

This year’s member dividend is down slightly from $8 million the credit union paid last year and the $12 million paid in 2006, but significant in a tough year for credit unions.
