LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Class Act FCU has acquired and is renovating a former branch of Fifth Third Bank, which will be the credit union’s fifth service facility.

Class Act bought the 2,800-square-foot building from Fifth Third for $775,000 in June 2012. The credit union said it wanted a branch in the area so it can boost membership among residents of Shelby and Oldham counties.

The new branch will not have a traditional teller line, a counter behind which tellers stand and wait on members. Instead, it will have circular pods in the middle of the lobby, where members can stand beside tellers as they make transactions.

Encompass Develop, Design & Construction LLC of La Grange is designing the branch and is general contractor for the project.
