MECHANICSBURG, Penn.-Members 1st Federal Credit Union held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the site of the credit union's 14th branch, located in York. The full-service branch features three drive-thru lanes, drive-up ATM and lobby area.

NFCU Installs ATM At Sports Arena

COLUMBUS, Ohio-Nationwide Federal Credit Union has installed an ATM outside the Nationwide Arena sports facility. "We feel very strongly about giving our members access to their funds, where and when they need it," said CEO Paula Edwards.

CFCU Hooked On Fish Philosophy

CACU Breaks Ground For Office

KANSAS CITY, Mo.-Community America Credit Union held a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of its new corporate administrative office in Lenexa. Guests included employees from the Kansas City North and Overland Park offices. The new facility will unite more than 300 employees in a three-story, 100,000-square-foot building expected to be completed in 2002.

WSECU Celebrates 65 Years

SEATTLE-Washington School Employees Credit Union celebrated its 65th anniversary with a 6.5% auto loan promotion, monthly $650 savings bond giveaways, and a grand prize drawing of $6,500.

Calif. League Raffles Computer

MONTERY, Calif.-A raffle during the California Credit Union League's Big Valley Educational Conference for a Compaq laptop computer raised more than $3,200 for the Richard Myles Johnson Foundation. Lisa Henne, branch manager of Central State CU, won the raffle in a drawing on the last day of the conference.

Wheat Tours Villa Del Sol Project

KANSAS CITY, Mo.-NCUA Board Member Yolanda Wheat toured Villa Del Sol, a housing redevelopment project sponsored by the Westside Housing Organization. "The community and Westside Housing Organization are to be commended for their vision and perseverance in making this project a reality," Wheat said.

EECU Names Scholarship Winners

FORT WORTH, Texas-EECU Credit Union announced that Anna Soule and Keith Jackson are each winners of its $5,000 Glenn Mandeville Memorial Scholarship.

MACU Sponsors Youth Forum

SALT LAKE CITY-Mountain America Credit Union sponsored Utah State University's Multicultural Youth Forum. Seven scholarship winners from local high schools presented their ideas about different multicultural issues to a panel of judges. The winners were Iris Sanchez, John Lopez, Ulvia Guadarrama, Elsa Alda, Ayodeji Ojo, Jenna Forsyth, Jennifer Howell, and Zahraa Hussain Al-Lawate. Scholarships ranged form $500-$1,000.

PSCU To Host Free Internet Forum

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-The Internet division of Payment Systems for Credit Unions, Inc. (PSCU) is hosting a free, one-day educational Internet Forum here. The keynote speaker is Randy Harrington, CEO of Extreme Arts and Sciences.

"PSCU recognizes its role in helping to educate credit unions about the opportunities and pitfalls of the online marketplace," said PSCU President Tom Miles.

PFCU Teams Up With Girl Scouts

PHILADELPHIA, Penn.-Philadelphia Federal Credit Union teamed up with the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Pennsylvania for their Take the Lead 2001 campaign. Proceeds from the campaign help train volunteers, operate camps, and provide programming for the girls to succeed as tomorrow's leaders.

Chessie FCU To Build New Branch

CUMBERLAND, Md.-Chessie Federal Credit Union announced plans to build a new branch facility in Grafton, W.V. The project will be built by PWCampbell and is projected to be completed this year.

PTCU Helps Education Foundation

PORTLAND, Ore.-In a recent agreement between Portland Teachers Credit Union (PTCU) and the Reynolds Education Foundation, the credit union will make a $5 donation to the foundation for every Reynolds School District employee who signs up for direct deposit to their PTCU account.

HFCU Building New Home Office

HOUSTON-Houston Federal Credit Union recently broke ground for a new home office. The new 23,000-square-foot facility will include a full-service branch and administration offices with a cyber cafe, special children's area, and six drive-thru lanes. Construction of the new office is expected to be completed at the end of this year.

NMFCU Donates $9,300

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.-New Mexico Federal Credit Union's Community Involvement Committee, an employee organization which conducts fundraising campaigns, donated $9,300 to 11 charitable organizations, including Make-A-Wish, St. Jude's Hospital, and All Faiths Receiving Home.
