LCUL Helps Children And Seniors

HARAHAN, La.-The Louisiana Credit Union League donated $500 to the Children's Miracle Network, and made more than 150 gift bags to home-bound seniors during the holidays.

CSCU Supports Charities

LIVONIA, Mich.-Co-op Services Credit Union supported the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve toys for Tots program by collecting toys at each branch.

The credit union also supported A Tree of Memories, which raises funds for the homebound and terminally ill patients at Hospice.

Co-op Services CU also supported Dearborn Rotary's efforts to eradicate polio worldwide, and Dearborn Rotary service projects.

WEBSTER, Mass.-Webster First Federal Credit Union pledged $25,000 to the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts.

CUANJ Commends Sen. Corzine

HIGHTSTOWN, N.J.-The Credit Union Affiliates of New Jersey commended Sen. Jon Corzine for recognizing the importance of financial literacy. "We commend Sen. Corzine for bringing some much needed attention to the importance of youth financial literacy efforts. It should concern everyone, because it has an impact on everyone, not just the youth of our country," said CUANJ CEO Russell Clark.

In additional news, CUANJ was the recipient of the Desjardins Youth Financial Literacy Award, which will be presented at CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference.

TFCU Offers Financial Education

TUSCON, Ariz.-Tucson Federal Credit Union is promoting financial education to more than 300 students in the Tucson Unified School District.

TFCU Sponsors Food Drive

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.-Truliant Federal Credit Union sponsored a food drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.

Truliant also contributed $1,300 to the Samaritans Ministries' Penny Campaign, which benefits a soup kitchen and a homeless men's shelter.

NEFCU Donates To Charities

WESTBURY, N.Y.-Nassau Educators Federal Credit Union donated $1,000 to the American Cancer Society, $500 to the Center for Developmental Disabilities, and $250 to the American Heart Association.

USAFCU Supports Julian, Calif.

SAN DIEGO-USA Federal Credit Union supported the town of Julian, Calif., which was destroyed by fires last summer, by ordering 70 apple pies and pastries from Julian Bakery.

CCU Raises $4,000 For Children

FRANKFORT, Ky.-Commonwealth Credit Union raised $4,000 for eight terminally ill children. The money was used to give the children the Christmas of their dreams.

In additional news, Commonwealth celebrated its 12th annual holiday gathering for kids of all ages and their families to have their picture taken with Santa.

PSCU Donates To Garden Project

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-Pacific Service Credit Union donated $3,000 to the Tri-High Garden Project to purchase garden equipment. The project offers high school students an opportunity to learn about plants, nature, and the outdoors.

MCUL Donates To The Homeless
