TruWest Attends Country Festival

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.-TruWest Credit Union had a booth at the Country Thunder-USA festival, where it signed up new members from the 150,000 people who attended the four day concert.

In additional news, the credit union held its annual meeting, which featured Jim Paxon, lead information officer for the Rodeo-Chediski Fire.

* Town & Country FCU opened a self-service lobby at its main office in South Portland, Maine.

* Cardinal Community Credit Union held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new building in Mentor, Ohio.

* Mission FCU opened Hoover High Campus Branch & Career Center in City Heights, San Diego.

HCU Participates In WalkAmerica

TACOMA, Wash.-Harborstone Credit Union participated in the March of Dimes' WalkAmerica for the 18th year. Nearly 280 employees, family and friends on the Harborstone team raised more than $16,000.

COFCU Sponsors Competition

LAS VEGAS-Community One FCU sponsored a bridge competition at the University of Las Vegas for students of the Clark County School District to construct a model bridge. The winning team was from Kenny Guinn Middle School.

In additional news, the credit union supports the Clark County School District School-Community Partnership Program's Focus School Project by partnering with Gibson Middle School. Community One employees support includes mentoring students, coordinating school photos, and donating funds for winter clothing and basketball uniforms.

AGFCU Raises $2,500 For Charity

CINCINNATI, Ohio-AurGroup Financial Credit Union raised more than $2,500 for the Heart Association by selling stuffed animals with red hearts. The credit union is also selling candy bars to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

CLEVELAND, Ohio-The Telephone Credit Union was recognized at the Ohio Credit Union League annual meeting with the Dora Maxwell Award for Social Responsibility.

HVFCU Offers Financial Education

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union launched a new youth initiative designed to provide financial education to local high school and college-age students. The CU partnered with students to create an education video on how to buy a car.

LFCU Reveals New Club Mascot

HAMPTON, Va.-Langley Federal Credit Union selected 14-year old Danielle Kirsch's design for its Constellation Club mascot. The new mascot is Spica, the brightest star in the constellation Virgo, and will appear at upcoming community events to teach kids the importance of saving and to promote Langley Federal's Constellation Club.

WVCUL To Publish Cookbook

PARKERSBURG, W.V.-The West Virginia Credit Union League is producing a cookbook from the best recipes from credit union staff and members from across the state. Net proceeds will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network. The cookbooks will be available for purchase mid-August.
