Credit Unions In Their Communities

* Meriwest CU, San Jose, Calif., celebrated National Credit Union Youth Week throughout the month of April and participated in the Nationwide Rebuilding Together program by volunteering to improve the Pacific Autisim Center for Education.

* New Mexico Educators FCU, Albuquerque, celebrated National CU Youth Week.

In Tampa, Fla., GTE Federal Credit Union CEO Bucky Sebastian gives a helping hand to the Helping Hand Day Nursery with a $50,000 grant from the GTE FCU Charitable Foundation.

Wauna Federal Credit Union, Clatskanie, Ore., introduced Jump Start, a teen money club, to help teenagers learn how to manage money.

Saugus Federal Credit Union, Saugus, Mass., has a youth savings program at the Oaklandvale School to help elementary school students learn the value of saving money.

In Downey, Calif., Financial Partners Credit Union hosted local students and their parents for an orientation on the re-launch of the YMCA Youth & Government program, and the credit union also contributed $2,500.

In Austin, Texas, United Heritage Credit Union was recognized by the Texas National Night Out committee for their support over the past 12 years.

The Minnesota Credit Union Network, Bloomington, hosted representatives from CENCOPAN, its partner credit union association in Paraguay. The delegation participated in its annual general meeting and visited Mid-States Corporate FCU.

Security Service FCU, San Antonio, Texas, is celebrating its 50th anniversary with special activities including a Chevy giveaway.

In Santa Ana, Calif., Orange County's Credit Union held an Easter basket decorating contest to benefit the patients at Children's Hospital of Orange County. The baskets were filled with games, books, toys, DVDs and stuffed animals.

In Albany, The New York Credit Union Foundation is working with credit unions across the state to pilot Kid's Cash Kit & Caboodle, a financial education tool for children ages 5-12.

Lebanon Federal Credit Union, Lebanon, Penn., volunteers participated in the United Way of Lebanon County's Day of Caring to give back to their community.

In Phoenix, The Arizona Credit Union League was honored to have Lance Walker, financial services aide for Rep. Jeff Flake, visit First Credit Union and San Tan Credit Union.

The America's Credit Union Museum in Manchester, N.H., sponsored the CU 4 Reality Financial Literacy Fair. Students Gussie Rice and Melissa Thone from Rundlett Middle School attended the fair.

Mid-Atlantic Corporate Federal Credit Union, Middletown, Penn., was host to Rep. Timothy Holden with a tour of the Corporate's facility and operations, including the electronic bill payment and check sorting areas.

Pacific Service Credit Union, Walnut Creek, Calif., donated $5,000 to the Vacaville Neighborhood Boys & Girls Club to benefit its computer literacy and college preparation program.
