CSCU, Visa Partner In Literacy Effort

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Card Services for Credit Unions (CSCU) here said it will join with Visa USA to promote financial literacy nationally. Under the program, CSCU's member credit unions will have access to free financial literacy resources from two Visa programs to distribute in their communities.

The former offers money management resources and lesson plans tailored for use at home, in the classroom or at work. The website also contains an array of tips and calculators to help consumers of all ages prepare for life changing financial events, from planning for the fiscal realities of parenthood, to saving for college, to retirement, along with online support at www.cscu.practicalmoneyskills.com.

The latter is aimed at guiding young adults through the basics of a FICO score and factors for improving it. It has online support at www.cscu.whatsmyscore.org). "The need for financial literacy in America has never been greater and credit unions are stepping up to meet this challenge," said CSCU President Bob Hackney.
