Isakson will face freshmanDemocratic Rep. Denise Majette, who qualified in Tuesday's primaryas the first black candidate ever nominated to the U.S. Senate inGeorgia. But Isakson is a widely expected to succeed conservativeDemocratic Zell Miller because of the increasing popularity of theGOP in Georgia. CUNA, which gave Isakson a $5,000 campaigncontribution this week, said the three-term lawmaker has been areliable ally. "He's been good to us, He's always been accessibleand we've had a good rapport," Richard Gose, political director forCUNA, told The Credit Union Journal.
