CU Foundation Names Gigi Hyland As Director
WASHINGTON The National CU Foundation, the charitable arm of CUNA and affiliates, announced the appointment of Gigi Hyland, a former CUNA executive and most recently a member of the NCUA Board, as it new executive director.
Hyland will take over the national charity August 26, succeeding Bucky Sebastian, the former president of GTE FCU, who recently retired as director of the Foundation.
Hyland, who will work out of CUNA’s Washington offices, served on the NCUA Board from 2005 through 2012 and was CUNA's vice president of Corporate CU Relations and executive director of the Association of Corporate CU, the corporates’ chief lobbyist, from 1997 to 2002. Before going to NCUA she served as general counsel of Empire Corporate FCU, now Members United Corporate FCU, one of the eventual five corporate failures.
