SALT LAKE CITY — Credit Unions for Kids is inviting CUs across the United States to participate in Shop for Miracles, a one-day CU4Kids program that will raise funds for local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals on Thursday, Oct. 15.
Each time credit union members use their CU-issued credit or debit card on Oct. 15, the participating credit union will donate $0.25 or other pre-determined amount to the local Children's Miracle Network Hospital.
As is the case with all Children's Miracle Network Hospitals donations, funds raised locally will remain in the community to support the hospital's greatest needs, often including equipment, life-saving research, treatments or charitable care, the two parties said.
In 2014, 108 credit unions participated in Shop for Miracles, raising $450,000, including $50,000 in matching funds from CO-OP Financial Services' Miracle Match program.

John Lauck, president and CEO of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, said in a press release the organization is "thrilled with the positive reception of this new program" among its credit union partners and their members.
"Shop for Miracles makes it possible for credit union members to support kids in their community by simply planning their shopping for Oct. 15," Lauck said. "Thanks to many generous credit unions, our member hospitals receive the funding they need to continue providing life-saving care to millions of children each year."
Since 1996, credit unions fundraising under the Credit Unions for Kids brand have raised almost $150 million for local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. More information on Children's Miracle Network Hospitals can be found at
