MADISON, Wis. – CUNA Mutual said last week its charitable foundation has approved $513,000 in grants to local organizations, including a $218,000 award to the KinderReady program for early childhood education in low-income families.
The program is part of the United Way of Dane County’s "Born Learning" initiative.
The CUNA Mutual Group Foundation has also awarded $100,000 to the Madison Children’s Museum; $100,000 to the Urban League’s Center for Economic Development; $20,000 to Big Brothers Big Sisters; $15,000 to the YWCA’s Second Chance Workshop; $15,000 to Schools of Hope and Youth Resource Centers Tutors; $15,000 to Project REACH; $10,000 to South Madison Health & Family Center; $10,000 to CommonWealth Development and $10,000 to Financial Education Center I Madison.
