CUNA PAC Rises To No. 12

CUNA political action committee (PAC) climbed up the ladder of campaign PACs last year, becoming the 12th biggest out of more than 5,000 PACs, in terms of contributions to individual candidates.

Federal Election Commission records show CUNA's CU Legislative Action Counsel, or CULAC, was just ahead of the American Bankers Association's BancPac in total contributions to individual candidates. CUNA made a total of $688,275 in PAC contributions to congressional candidates last year, the first of the two-year election cycle.

Ahead of CUNA were: the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Machinists/Aerospace Workers Union, American Federation of State/County/Municipal Employees Union, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, National Auto Dealers Association, Laborers Union, Teamsters Union, United Parcel Service, Carpenters & Joiners Union, National Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Home Builders.
