Decatur Earthmover CU’s ‘Personal Banker’ Charged With Stealing $150,000 From Elderly Members

DECATUR, Ill. – A former employee at Earthmover CU, assigned as a “personal banker” to certain members, was charged with embezzling $150,000 from accounts held by five elderly members.

Tina Flinn, 43, pleaded innocent to the charges during her arraignment Wednesday.

As a personal banker, Flinn, who worked at the credit union's Forsyth branch, was responsible for receiving money from members to make deposits into their accounts.

The thefts were not detected until one of the members noticed discrepancies and notified the credit union, according to court records. An audit was then conducted.

Flinn worked for Earthmover for about 11 years, including five years at the Forsyth branch. Her employment ended Aug. 31.
