DES MOINES, Iowa – A teenager was convicted of robbing three financial institutions within four days last December, including two credit unions, authorities said yesterday.

Nineteen-year-old Michael Wiest was convicted of robbing Affinity CU last Dec.18, Liberty Bank on Dec. 20, and Financial Plus CU on Dec. 22.
Wiest was arrested in Sheldon, Iowa, at the home of some acquaintances, where clothing used in the robberies and a firearm were recovered.
The teenaged robber faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced next year.
