PHOENIX - (06/06/05) -- Desert Schools FCU announced lastweek it has awarded seven high-performing graduating high schoolseniors a total of $10,000 in scholarships. The credit union'sCommunity Service Awards, for students who combine civic work withhigh grades, will be presented at a ceremony at the credit union onTuesday. The students combined grade point averages above 3.0 (B)with volunteer work at local hospitals and museums, tutoredstudents at local elementary schools and cultural centers, andparticipated in charity fundraisers.
