WETHERSFIELD, Conn. The $200-million Dutch Point CU said it is merging into it the $31-million Capitol Region FCU.
“We are member-centric organizations who share the same values and vision for our members. This is an exciting time because together we can deliver a broader range of products and services,” said Francis R.N. Proto, CEO of Dutch Point CU.
Dutch Point originally served employees of Hartford Electric Light Co. It now serves residents of Hartford, Middlesex, New Haven and New London counties. Capital Region FCU was chartered in 1954 to serve the West Hartford Fire Fighters and now serves more than 100 select groups.
Capitol Region FCU has reported losses the past five years and for the first quarter of 2013. The merger is scheduled for October of this year.
