Earnings Fall At Fair Isaac

MINNEAPOLIS – Fair Isaac & Co., the maker of the FICO credit score, said net income for its fiscal third quarter ended June 30 fell 32% to $18.1 million, while revenues slumped 15%.

Third quarter revenues were $156 million, down from $183.3 million for the same period last year. Revenues for the first three quarters of 2009 were down 15% to $478 million.

Third quarter sales were down significantly in three of the company’s four main operating groups: Strategy Machine Solutions, Scoring Solutions and Professional Services, and up slightly in its Analytic Software unit.

Net income for the first three quarters of the year is down 20% to $48 million.
