Jamell Stallings, 46, was sentenced to 18 months for counterfeiting, identity fraud and theft.

Stallings stole the social security number of her brother, Ronald Greene. Greene agreed to go with Stallings to Navy Federal and open an account, but without telling her brother, she added herself as the joint owner of the account. Stallings then took out a $5,000 loan using his name and SSN.

Stallings then generated a fraudulent W-2 and faxed it to Navy Federal from the police department to obtain the loan, and transferred $2,500 of that loan to her own account. She spent the other $2,500 on other items.

Stallings also used her brother’s name to take out a $13,000 car loan. She then forged the certified check that Navy Federal gave her to reflect that Greene gave her the funds. She then deposited it into her personal account. Stallings immediately took out another certified check for $13,000 from her account and used it to pay off her vehicle.
