FORT BEND, Texas – A father and his two teenagers who were arrested for an Oct. 1 armed robbery of 1st Community CU were indicted by a Fort Bend County grand jury for aggravated robbery.
Fifty-year-old Ronald Scott Catt and his children, Hayden Scott Catt, 20, and Abigail “Abby” Catt, 18, also were linked to another Texas bank heist and investigators believe they might be behind five bank robberies in their home state of Oregon.
According to investigators, two men entered the bank wearing orange traffic vests and dark sunglasses and held employees at gunpoint. The younger suspect allegedly drove the getaway vehicle.
The father and son were arrested Nov. 9 at an inn the Katy area. Abby Catt was arrested later that day at the Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators zeroed in on the robbers’ disguises to break the case. The orange traffic vests the men wore were emblazoned with an “X” on the back, and deputies found them for sale at a Home Depot located near the credit union. A search of the store’s security video turned up images of Hayden and Abby Catt purchasing the vests.
Further viewing of the store’s surveillance unearthed Scott Catt buying a painter’s mask. The father and son also are accused the August robbery of a Comerica Bank in Harris County. The suspects in that incident wore painters’ outfits and masks.
