Former league CEO launches credit union diversity consulting firm

The former CEO of the Connecticut Credit Union League is set to lead a newly formed consulting firm focused on expanding diversity across the industry.

Jill Nowacki has been appointed CEO of Humanidei, a human capital consulting group whose last three letters are said to emphasize its focus on diversity, equity and inclusion. Nowacki will run the company’s strategic operations and work with clients. Diana Dykstra, president and CEO of the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues, will serve in an advisory capacity.

Nowacki unexpectedly announced her departure from the Connecticut league in May.

Former Connecticut Credit Union League CEO Jill Nowacki became CEO of the consulting firm Humanidei in July 2019.

In a press release announcing Humanidei’s launch, the organization was described as having been “designed to fill a void in the industry.” It will reportedly focus on human development, recruitment and retention to credit unions, including organizational growth plans.

“Credit unions continue to struggle in a war for talent from the frontline to the board level, but there is no reason for this,” Nowacki said in a press release. “Our values are strong and attractive to people who want to make an impact in workplaces where they feel respected. The way credit unions are structured makes them perfectly suited to partner with Humanidei to strategically and systematically leverage this structure for talent attraction, development and retention.”

Dykstra said the firm aims to help credit unions better understand how the industry is evolving and to better create an employee base that reflects today’s demographic shifts and is built for retention.
