Former NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson Comes Back To Head State CU Regulator

DES MOINES – Former NCUA Chairman JoAnn Johnson was appointed this morning to head Iowa's credit union agency, replacing long-time director James Forney, who is retiring.

Johnson, a former state senator in Iowa, served on the NCUA Board from 2002 to 2008, the last four years as chairman.

Gov. Terry Branstad announced Tuesday the he also submitted Johnson's name to fill a four-year term that would begin in May.

Johnson will supervise Iowa’s 125 state chartered credit unions.
