Fort Community Credit Union, based in Fort Atkinson, Wis., on Wednesday said it brought back its Member Loyalty Cash program for a second year.
The program encourages member economic participation by rewarding members based on the number of products and services they actively utilize with the credit union. The largest rewards are for having loans and/or an active debit card, followed by deposit accounts and CU credit card use. Members also can earn rewards by signing up for e-statements and/or using the credit union's online branch and mobile app.
The $228 million institution said it has been paying a member patronage dividend since 2005. With this year's Member Loyalty Cash, it has given back more than $2.9 million to its member-owners.
With the new Member Loyalty Cash program, 25.77% of FCCU's members received more than $30 this year. With the past program, a much smaller percentage of members received the patronage dividend.
"The new Member Loyalty Cash program allows for many more members to cash in on the benefits," the credit union said in a statement.
"As a member-owned financial cooperative, it is a part of our philosophy to return our profits to our member-owners," said Susan Johnson, FCCU's president. "We are thrilled to have given back to so many members that are actively participating in their cooperative."
